EDITORIAL
Welcome to the second issue of the South African Journal of Libraries and Information Science (SAJLIS) for 2021. The issue is published at a time when the library and information services fraternity is still mourning the untimely passing away of the former Editor-in-Chief of SAJLIS, Prof Rocky Ralebipi-Simela. Prof Ralebipi-Simela has contributed immensely to the articles in this publication and her term of office expired before the issue was released. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
As we are attempting to clear the backlog of submissions we have received, this issue features five articles covering a range of niche areas including access to library and information services, knowledge sharing of intellectual property rights by libraries, information retrieval of private documentation, electronic health records systems, and library user experiences and non-user attitudes. The articles represent a wide geographical spread of regional and national coverage. Almost all of the articles in this issue were written by academics, librarians, and students from universities in South Africa, Namibia and Malawi.
As the incoming editor, I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor for the groundwork she prepared. I would also like to thank Ms Michelle Kahn, Mr Wynand van der Walt, and Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA) president, Mr Nazeem Hardy, for ensuring that this issue is released. We hope that the next issues will attract contributions from practice including public and special libraries.
Mpho Ngoepe
Editor-in-Chief, SAJLIS
