The African Journal of Gender and Religion (AJGR) aims to publish papers from social science and theological disciplines or related fields of inquiry, which provide critical and creative perspectives at the intersections of gender, religion, and theology in Africa. Particular areas of interest include gendered analyses of religion and theology; feminist and decolonial epistemology; methodological innovations in pedagogy and research; theological and ethical reflection on social transformation; gendered significance of new religious movements and African–initiated forms of religion; interfaith solidarity; peace–making and reconciliation; normative and non–normative sexualities; and queer politics. AJGR is an African journal and seeks to encourage authors to reflect on Africa as context, concept, and theory. Yet, the journal is equally welcoming of international contributions engaging with a variety of social and geographic contexts. |
It is expected that submissions will contribute new and original knowledge to the subject/theme that is being addressed. Hence:
